Lessons from the Friday Unknowns
Histologic sections show lymphoma involving squamous epithelium–lined mucosa. The neoplasm has a diffuse pattern and is composed of intermediate-size lymphoid cells with highly irregular nuclear contours. Apoptotic cells are numerous and mitotic figures are identified.
