Lessons From the Friday Unknowns
Histologic sections show needle shaped fragments of lymphoid tissue involved by lymphoma.
The lymphoma has a follicular pattern and is composed of many (>22/hpf) centroblasts, mixed with centrocytes.
In some interfollicular area, several small granulomas composed of epithelioid histiocytes without lymphocytic cuffs are present.
The remaining interfollicular area is composed of small lymphocytes, rare plasma cells and immunoblasts. Mitotic figures are rare. Necrosis is not seen.
