Follicular Lymphoma, Grade 3A Involving the Bone Marrow
Lessons From the Friday Unknowns
At least 80% of the medullary bone present in the core biopsy is involved by malignant lymphoma. Lymphoma cells are a mixture of large cells (centroblasts) and small and intermediate size cells.
The large lymphoma cells show distinct localization to the paratrabecular regions of the bone. Small and intermediate sized lymphocytes predominate within the more central areas of medullary bone away from the trabecula.
