Lessons From the Friday Unknowns

Histologic sections show a highly fragmented needle biopsy specimen.

About half of the specimen is fibrous tissue associated with clusters of small lymphocytes and plasma cells.

One small fragment of necrotic lymphoid tissue is present.

In the viable areas, scattered well-formed nodules of lymphoid cells are present with some resemblance to neoplastic follicles or reactive germinal centers.
